Getting Around Town
It’s been a close race, but first place for most traveled transport goes to — my feet! Taxis, or khumbis, come in at a close second. Buses take third. A bike is hopefully in my future, but I love to walk and my feet don’t seem to mind too much (minus the occasional monster blister).
My site is classified as a “semi-urban” placement. I can’t say I know exactly what that means, but I don’t think I disagree with the statement. The neighboring township and its shopping center are a mere thirty-minute walk from where I live and work. The township then gradually transitions into a more urban area and eventually becomes Mokopane, the nearby town, which is only a ten-minute taxi ride away.
